Occupational therapists look at the whole person during an evaluation or therapy session. We understand that there are many influences on a person and each influence impacts the ability to complete an activity. We will break down an activity into specific tasks while considering each person's physical skills, attention, body awareness, environment, nutrition, sleep, sensory needs, and more.
During our OT sessions, I will provide the family with information on what was completed and how to incorporate these activities into their home. Using this approach, the child has more opportunities to practice their skills and develop their abilities more effectively.
